About Periwinkle Dreams
I am a native of Michigan, spending a big chunk of my life in Wyandotte, just south of Detroit, where I grew up and raised my two sons. After the good fortune of living in faraway places (Switzerland, Australia, Africa, and California) I now make my home in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
I have always loved to work with my hands, finding great pleasure in the process of transforming bits and pieces of cloth/yarn/beads into something useful, and often lovely. I have explored many mediums but I love the combination of beads and metal with the countless variations they afford.
When Periwinkle Dreams began, I was the sole creator. But recently there have been additional contributors to the inventory, Beth Lavoie and Stephanie Hyland. Each of us has a slightly different look that I hope you will enjoy. And as time goes on there may very well be more of my friends who will add their creative efforts to the site.
The eclectic nature of my collection seems to be a reflection of my life – many experiences living in many places and meeting many people, pursuing a number of different jobs, and finding pleasure in most everything I have experienced. At the moment, Periwinkle Dreams is focused on jewelry but as time goes by, and my interests take a new turn, there will most likely be additional items added to the product line. Watch for announcements on the web site to see what’s new.
There are numerous people who need to be thanked - my family and friends for their encouragement and support in pursuing this dream. A huge thank you to Lenny Zenith, who not only built my website but, with patience and humor, taught me how to manage it on my own. Lastly, I owe a debt of gratitude to my creative genius of a brother-in-law, John Donaghue, who designed my logo, my business cards, and the website.
